Roseneath B&B is quietly in the country (only two houses within sight across the river on the far side of the valley) but Prince Edward Island’s tourist sites are readily accessible from Roseneath.
· The Brudenell Resort (with its two 18-hole golf courses, horseback riding, kayaking, even lawn bowling) is just down river from us: · Charlottetown (our provincial capital and birthplace of Confederation) is half an hour's drive away. · We are right on the Brudenell River (trout fishing in front of the house) · The Confederation Trail runs through our property (great for walking or cycling, and only 5 km along it to restaurants and craft shops) · White sand dune beaches of Panmure Island are only 15 minutes away by car · Seal-watching cruises, local museum, more craft stores · and gourmet dining 10 minutes away · Cavendish (Anne of Green Gables territory) an hour away; the ferry to Nova Scotia only 25 minutes away. And there's always something happening nearby · ceilidhs, country auctions, church suppers, summer theatre, local festivals. |

Or, if you prefer, you can turn your back on the outside world and idle around Roseneath ... enjoy a cup of tea on our glassed-in verandah, "watch the grass grow", curl up with a book in our library, use our bicycles or fishing rods, putter around our perennial gardens, explore our woodland paths, or try such old-fashioned pleasures as croquet and horse-shoes. Depending on the season you'll find Mayflowers, lady's slippers, marsh marigolds, lupins, or black-eyed susans... or you can pick blueberries in the fields.
Many of our guests choose to make Roseneath B&B their home-away-from-home the entire time they are on PEI, going out exploring each day without packing and relocating. |
